Polycom HDX & Group Series: keep or replace?
Many government and corporate meeting rooms still run Polycom HDX and Group Series codecs. Here is how to keep them working, and how to plan the move to current Poly systems.
Poly (formerly Polycom) has ended sales and support for the HDX series and the RealPresence Group Series. The systems keep working, but new software, security fixes and OEM repairs are no longer available. The usual weak points are EagleEye cameras, microphone arrays, remotes and power supplies.
If your rooms work with H.323 / SIP calls inside your network, you can keep them in service with spare cameras, microphones and remotes and repair support. If you need Microsoft Teams or Zoom in the room, a modern video bar such as the Poly Studio X series, or a G7500 for larger rooms, is the better choice.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is the Polycom Group Series end of life?
Yes. Poly has ended sales and support for the RealPresence Group Series and the older HDX series.
Can Polycom Group 500 work with Microsoft Teams?
Not natively. Group Series systems use H.323 / SIP; joining Teams meetings needs a separate interop service. Current Poly Studio X systems support Teams and Zoom directly.
What replaces the Polycom Group 500?
For most rooms, a Poly Studio X50 or X52 video bar. For larger rooms, the Poly G7500.
Can Polycom HDX systems be repaired?
Yes. Umang Telecom services HDX and Group Series codecs and supplies replacement cameras, microphones and remotes.
Where can I get Polycom spares in Delhi?
Umang Telecom, Okhla, New Delhi supplies Polycom EagleEye cameras, microphone arrays and remotes, and offers AMC for meeting rooms.
